​Independence Blue Cross (Independence) provides free language assistance services for our members who speak a language other than English. Your Independence patients (or their friends or family members) can call the Customer Service number on the back of their member ID card to speak with a representative in their language. Members may also call for access to:

• plan documents in large print, braille, or other languages
• sign language interpreters with video conferencing
• audio recordings
• free telephone relay services via TTY/TDD: 711

Our members are diverse. You can also learn more about the provision of language services and serving limited-English patients by completing the Think Cultural Health e-learning program, which offers nine continuing education credits for physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
