​​Change to claim submission procedure for cataract reimbursement​​

​Effective immediately, reimbursement claims for post-surgery cataract glasses and lenses for Independence Blue Cross (Independence) Medicare Advantage members must be submitted by the provider.

The Evidence of Coverage (EOC) previously instructed Independence Medicare Advantage members to submit paper reimbursement claims for post-surgery cataract glasses and lenses. This language has been removed from the online version of the 2022 EOC and will not be included in the print and online versions of the 2023 EOC.
