As it has for the past 80 years, Independence continues to offer a wide range of benefits to members enrolled in its Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans. Read ahead for a summary of what's available in 2022.
Cost savings for members
There are several ways for members to save money with $0 cost-sharing for certain services, including:
- no medical or prescription deductible
- $0 PCP copay for Personal Choice 65 PPO, Personal Choice 65 Prime PPO, and Personal Choice 65 Elite PPO
- $0 copay for MDLIVE medical doctor and behavioral health telemedicine visits
- $0 copay for inpatient hospital stay due to a COVID-19 diagnosis
- $0 cost-share on radiation oncology for breast cancer
- $0 copay on Tier 1 preferred generics at preferred pharmacies and mail order
Introducing the IBX Care Card
Another way our members can save money is by using the new IBX Care Card. This card, once activated by phone or online, will allow members to use a quarterly allowance to purchase qualifying over the counter (OTC) items. Items like OTC medications, first-aid supplies, and health and wellness items can be purchased through participating retail locations like Walmart, CVS, Family Dollar, and more.
New PPO products!

Personal Choice 65 Saver Rx PPO. This new plan has a $0 premium and includes a Part B premium giveback of $50. It is available to eligible members in the 5-county area.

Personal Choice 65 Elite PPO. This one has a $50 premium and is also available to members in the 5-county area.
New vendors
We have added three new vendors that offer services to our members to help them manage their health and daily activities. They are:

Livongo®. Through Livongo, eligible members can manage their diabetes program digitally. This service is available to all new and existing plans except Personal Choice 65 Saver Rx PPO.

United by Blue. Qualified members can sign up for grocery box delivery. This service is available to all new and existing plans except Personal Choice 65 Saver Rx PPO.

Roundtrip. A transportation benefit is available for members with an active diagnosis of both Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and Diabetes. This service is available to members enrolled on all HMO plans except Keystone 65 Focus RX HMO-POS.
Changes to dental, vision, and hearing benefits
Dental: A $500 comprehensive dental allowance increase for Keystone 65 Basic Rx HMO and Personal Choice Prime Rx PPO.
Vision: Copay for in-network routine visits is now $0 on all plans, and allowance for eyewear purchased at Visionworks® is $250 on all plans. That's a $50 increase from last year's allowance!
Hearing: Through TruHearing
®*, our contracted vendor, $0 copay for routine hearing exam on all plans and unlimited hearing aid evaluation and fittings per year.
