​​COVID-19 (Coronavirus): Important change to commercial adult and pediatric well visit policy

Effective July 1, 2021, providers may not use telemedicine services to perform preventive well visits for commercial members because there are components to preventive well visits that require face-to-face interaction.

Due to a steady inc​​rease in vaccination rates and decline of COVID-19 cases in our service area, Independence has discontinued this policy exception. Effective July 1, 2021, we will revert to our standard preventive well visit coverage.​
