The northeastern part of the United States is approaching the annual respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) season, which is November 2015 through March 2016. RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia among children younger than one year. During RSV season, Independence will approve the monthly administration of Synagis® (palivizumab) for children in accordance with the most recent recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
It is mandatory for all participating providers to obtain Synagis® (palivizumab) through ACRO Pharmaceutical Services, an independent company.
