The Advisory Committee on Immunization
Practices (ACIP) has recently changed its recommendation for Tdap and
pregnancy. The ACIP recommendations now include administering Tdap after 20
weeks gestation instead of postpartum, since pregnancy registries have
determined that there is no adverse effect and that fewer newborns contract
pertussis if their mothers are vaccinated antepartum.

guidelines is available at www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6041a4.htm?s_cid=mm604
