NaviNet and IBC are receiving a number of inquiries related to the referral transaction that went live October 26, 2013. Please review the user guides and webinars posted to the
NaviNet Transaction Changes section of our Business Transformation site to orient yourself to the new transaction before contacting NaviNet or IBC Customer Service.We understand that some providers may still have unresolved problems with issuing referrals. We appreciate your patience as we continue to address outstanding issues. Please keep in mind that referrals can be retroactively issued for 90 days from the date of service.
Referral submission update
The Facility/Provider search feature has been enhanced based on end-user feedback. You can now conduct a professional provider search by entering a group practice NPI, group practice name, or individual provider last name (specialty, city, and ZIP code fields are optional). Based on end-user feedback, screen changes will be made in the coming weeks to indicate that billing provider name is the same as group name.For a facility search, you must enter the facility name or facility NPI. Optionally, you can also enter specialty, city, and/or ZIP code to narrow the search.Expanded service types are now offered through referral submission, such as fracture care. For general radiology services, you may select Medical Care (Consult and Treat).
Referral retrieval update
We ask that specialists maintain flexibility with primary care offices, as they may continue to experience referral submission issues as enhancements are moved to production.
