Effective January 1, 2019, AmeriHealth New Jersey will change the name of the AmeriHealth Tier 1 Advantage product to Hospital Advantage. We are making this change to minimize confusion with the use of member cost-sharing tiers in our AmeriHealth Advantage product offerings.   

Note: This is a name change only, and the change does not affect the benefits in the plan or the network names associated with the plans (i.e., Regional Preferred and Local Value). The AmeriHealth Advantage plan – which tiers physicians and facilities – remains the same. Note: Separately from the name change, there will be yearly planned benefit changes for 2019, as usual.

Members currently enrolled in AmeriHealth Hospital Advantage (formerly Tier 1 Advantage) will receive an updated ID card by January 1, 2019, indicating the name change, as shown below:

The change in plan name will also be reflected in the member portal and provider directories.
