There are occasions when a member's health insurance may be effective
before his or her ID card is received in the mail. In this situation, you can
still verify the member's eligibility by using the Eligibility and Benefits
Inquiry transaction on the NaviNet® web portal and selecting the
"Patient Name/Patient Date of Birth" search type. Members can also print a
temporary ID card by logging on to our secure member portal.
