Prepare now for your migration to SDS, our new EDI gateway vendor

As Trading Partners are scheduled to migrate their Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions to Smart Data Solutions (SDS) Stream Clearinghouse, the following tips can ensure Trading Partners are ready. SDS will send an email to Trading Partners with their targeted migration date.

Providers are encouraged to connect with their Trading Partners to ensure awareness.

What's in scope:

  • Payer codes include all AmeriHealth products (60061, 95044, and 54763).
  • All transactions currently transmitted to our current EDI gateway. Contact Highmark EDI Operations to confirm the logins associated with these AmeriHealth payer codes.

Key things to know:

  • There is NO change to file headers/envelopes (ISA/GS segments) – submit your 837P/I file exactly as you do today to our current EDI gateway.
  • YES, you should change your communication protocol – use the SFTP credentials supplied by SDS.
  • There will be NO claims enrollment required moving forward – get new providers submitting faster.
  • YES, you should enroll new providers for ERA – we'll take care of your existing providers for the migration; you enroll new providers with SDS and PNC Healthcare (powered by ECHO Health).

Before your migration date:

  • Early submissions may be rejected and receive no response.
  • ERAs will begin no earlier than the Wednesday after your migration date. Check the following Monday for results of the regular weekend payment cycle.
  • Your Highmark EDI Gateway logins will be disabled 14 days after your migration date. Make sure to check your directories for any uncollected ERA and response files.
