As health care professionals, you can encourage your patients – our Medicare Advantage members with AmeriHealth prescription drug coverage – to save money by filling their prescriptions at preferred pharmacies.
Currently, Tier 1 and 2 prescriptions (which include generic drugs) have lower copayments when filled at preferred pharmacies.
Effective January 1, 2025, Medicare Advantage patients with individual AmeriHealth coverage will
pay $0 for Tier 1 and 2 prescriptions at preferred pharmacies. At standard (non-preferred) pharmacies, our members will have copayment amounts that vary by plan.

Practices can see lower cost medication options on many electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Through our mail-order pharmacy, OptumRx® Home Delivery, members can get their prescriptions shipped to their home at the same cost-sharing as if they filled at a preferred pharmacy.
