AmeriHealth introduces EHR messaging to improve polypharmacy risks for members

To improve polypharmacy risks among our members, AmeriHealth Insurance Company of New Jersey (AmeriHealth) is introducing new messaging within your electronic health record (EHR) system.

As a provider, you may receive targeted messages about your patients (AmeriHealth members) who may be prescribed:

  •  Several medications from the same therapeutic class or with similar effects
  •  A dosage outside of the FDA approved labeling
  •  A medication for an inappropriate duration
  •  Medication without a corresponding diagnosis or clinical reason

These messages will appear in your inbox or message center and will focus on reducing any adverse effects in an effort to improve safety and efficacy.

All AmeriHealth communications are meant to support, not replace, your clinical judgement. You play a crucial role in safeguarding your patients (our members) from polypharmacy risks through collaborative medication management.
