AmeriHealth continues to offer robust Medicare Advantage plans and benefits in 2025

In recognition of the growing senior market, AmeriHealth Insurance Company of New Jersey (AmeriHealth) is offering health plans to help age 65+ members (your patients) maintain a healthy lifestyle.

AmeriHealth plans seek to provide members with quality health care coverage focused on improving affordability, while featuring more choices and benefits.

For 2025, we are offering four no-referral PPO plans to members living in seven counties (Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Mercer, Middlesex, and Ocean).

These four plan options include:

  • AmeriHealth Medicare Secure PPO
  • AmeriHealth Medicare Ultimate PPO
  • AmeriHealth Medicare Enhanced PPO
  • AmeriHealth Medicare Core PPO

All plans include:

  • Prescription coverage
  • Dental, vision, and hearing coverage
  • Routine podiatry, chiropractor services, and acupuncture

In addition, some plans also have:

  • Zero-dollar premiums (most plans)
  • Transportation and meals
  • Part B premium giveback

Benefit highlights

  • The Part B Premium Giveback, which helps reduce the amount members pay each month for their Medicare Part B premium, is available through two of our plans: AmeriHealth Medicare Secure PPO and AmeriHealth Medicare Ultimate PPO.
  • All members with AmeriHealth Medicare Advantage plans have access to free fitness memberships across a large national fitness network. This includes all YMCAs in the seven-county area.
  • The AmeriHealth Care Card provides quarterly allowances for over the counter (OTC) items, along with a flexible benefit allowance for medical, dental, vision, and hearing services and supplies. This card is available to members with AmeriHealth Medicare Core PPO, AmeriHealth Medicare Enhanced PPO, and AmeriHealth Medicare Secure PPO plans.
  • Eligible members with chronic health conditions have access to enhanced Disease Management services. Treating physicians can refer patients to receive an assessment by one of our Health Coaches.

The Inflation Reduction Act and Medicare Part D changes

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) made significant changes for 2025, including implementing components of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), that will impact Medicare Advantage beneficiaries.

Two key changes for 2025 include:

  • Out-of-pocket drug costs will be capped at $2,000 for 2025, and the Coverage Gap will be eliminated. This means that once Medicare Part D members reach this limit, they will pay nothing for covered drugs for the remainder of the year. This cap only applies to out-of-pocket drug costs, and it includes payments made by others on a member's behalf.
Note: The cap does not apply to drugs covered under Medicare Part B.
  • The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan (MPPP) is a new payment option that allows members with Part D prescription drug coverage to spread out the cost of their prescription drugs over the course of the year in smaller, more predictable monthly payments. The opportunity to opt in is not income-based and is completely voluntary.

To help providers navigate these changes, AmeriHealth has a dedicated resource page that includes policy updates and the latest news.
