Preapproval/Precertification and notification of maternity admissions for routine deliveries are no longer required as of March 1, 2022.

Non-routine deliveries still require notification to ensure proper claims processing. Non-routine deliveries include vaginal deliveries resulting in stays of 5 days or more or cesarean deliveries resulting in stays of 7 days or more.

Notification for non-routine deliveries should be faxed to the Utilization Management department at 215-784-0672.​
